Kian is a seasoned payments industry leader with over 20 years of experience spanning Europe, Australia and New Zealand. With a global perspective on merchant acquiring, card issuing, and strategic product development, he has built a reputation for delivering innovative, commercially successful payment solutions.

His career highlights include managing high-volume payment processing platforms, implementing robust risk and compliance frameworks, developing cryptocurrency payment products, and identifying new revenue streams for both established enterprises and emerging ventures.

Kian has made a lasting mark on the industry by opening new markets across the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Australia and New Zealand, and leading the creation of end-to-end merchant acquiring solutions, multiple payment facilitators, cryptocurrency products, and advanced payment gateways.

Since 2023, he has been Managing Director of Riva Tech Consulting (www.rivatechconsulting.com), a boutique payments consultancy working with a diverse range of businesses, from fintechs and startups to large corporates and crypto exchanges. RivaTech’s expertise spans both merchant acquiring and card issuing, enabling clients to launch and scale payments capabilities with confidence.

Previously, as Head of the Payments Acceptance Division at Novatti (ASX: NOV), Kian drove $5 million in revenue growth by launching multiple payment products, including a chargeback-guarantee online payments platform, card-present payment terminals, a pay-by-crypto product, SoftPOS/tap-to-phone solutions, and privacy compliance tools.

Before that, as General Manager of the SecurePay Group (SecurePay & POLi), he led a 110-strong team processing over one million transactions daily, totalling $75 billion annually, earning multiple industry awards for innovation and service excellence.

Earlier in his career, Kian held senior roles at Fiserv in both Ireland and Australia, and worked with a major Brisbane-based payments provider. Before entering payments, he built a strong financial foundation as an accountant with State Street, gaining valuable insight into the mechanics of financial operations and governance.

Kian is the visionary founder of a groundbreaking Crypto Currency payment gateway solution. This innovative platform allows crypto wallet holders to seamlessly make online payments, with the added functionality of settling in fiat currency for online retailers. Demonstrating his commitment to Crypto Payments, Kian filed a patent application (No. 2021900385) with IP Australia for his creation titled "Secure and compliant multi-cryptocurrency payment gateway."
